I am a Canadian-British filmmaker that has moved recently to magical, magnificent Mallorca. I have worked in the film and entertainment industry over the past 25 years as a director, cameraman and screenwriter at various stages in my career. My first love was music, having played in many bands over the years as a drummer. I started my film career in the camera department as a camera assistant, before lighting/operating and then directing music videos, traveling the world to film projects in Canada, the UK, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East. While continuing to hone my visual and story-telling skills, I studied with professional cinematographers/director like Atom Egoyan and Thomas Burstyn C.S.C., as well as acclaimed acting coach Judith Weston from L.A. which led to a supporting role in an award winning Lebanese feature film “Very Big Shot” (currently on Netflix). In addition to music videos, I directed a few short films: “Karma Cup”, “the Poacher”, the sketch comedy pilot “Rotten to the Core”, and most recently the Welsh comedy POC “Fish Finger Sandwich”. In 2003, I directed my first independent feature film, “Cellmates”. In Mallorca I have found the inspiration to write, and I am currently working on a feature film script that I am planning to direct this year. In parallel, I am always on the look-out for like-minded individuals to collaborate with as a director, writer or cameraman. Please see my web-site for more info: www.directordouglas.com
